Ashton Kutcher has stirred up yet more controversy with his tweet regarding Joe Paterno, and now the Two and a Half Men star has quit Twitter because he feels "awful".
The actor, who was recently accused of cheating on his wife of six years Demi Moore, has stated that he will take a step back from Twitter after sending out a controversial tweet to his 8.3 million folowers.
Ashton tweeted about the Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, who was given the boot from the university as he's been linked to his former assistant Jerry Sandusky's child abuse case.
Sandusky has been accused of sexually abusing eight boys over 15 years and Paterno reported the claims to the university's athletic director, but has since been heavily criticised for having not taken more action.
"How do you fire Jo Pa? insult. no class. as a [University of Iowa] hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste," Kutcher wrote in protest to Paterno's sacking and it has now been deleted.
Many of Kutcher's followers were repulsed by his comments and once learning the reason's behind it, the actor apologised.
"As an advocate in the fight against child sexual exploitation, I could not be more remorseful for all involved in the Penn St. case," he tweeted. "As of immediately I will stop tweeting until I find a way to properly manage this feed. I feel awful about this error. Won't happen again."
