Noel Clarke is the latest name to join the cast of J.J. Abrams' untitled Star Trek sequel. Variety reports that he'll be playing a family man with both a wife and daughter (neither of whom have been announced as cast).
Clarke is no stranger to sci-fi fans, having played Mickey Smith in recent series of "Doctor Who."
The sequel will be shot in 2D and post-converted for a 3D release on May 17, 2013. It's set to feature the return of John Cho, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban and Anton Yelchin with all-new roles for Alice Eve and Peter Weller. The film's central villain has yet to be cast, though several actors are said to be in contention.
