Gary Barlow ‘not enjoying’ X Factor, Simon Cowell to replace him?

Simon Cowell is plotting how to salvage X Factor after its ratings drop this series, and word is the music mastermind is considering returning to the show to take the head judge crown from Gary Barlow.

The dramatic overhaul of the show will result in at least two of the current judges being replaced, the Daily Mail reports, with the chances of Gary Barlow returning next year “beyond slim.”
Gary has hinted that he’s not having fun on the show, and told Esquire: “I’ve got to get my head around the pressure. And learn to enjoy it, but it’s so intense.

“All those people out there watching every move you make and analysing it and talking to their friends about it and Tweeting and gossiping I think at this point the reason I’m not particularly enjoying it is I don’t feel I’m in control of it. Maybe I’ll never feel like that.”

There’s even a rumour that the show might not return to our TV screens until January 2013, so that Simon can continue on the US version too, but ITV are apparently reluctant to move it.

Other options being considered include judge Nicole Scherzinger and presenter Steve Jones swapping the US show for the British show, with Kelly Rowland hopping over to join the American panel.

Louis Walsh apparently hasn’t signed for next year’s show yet and is thinking about giving it up, while Tulisa has made it crystal she wants to return and is the most likely to stay.

Simon obvs wants Cheryl Cole to come back, but her camp says she’s focused on her music career.
We’ve still got two weeks left of this series, with this week’s theme Motown. Marcus Collins must be ecstatic. Special guests this weekend are the show’s own Kelly Rowland plus Justin Bieber.
