Nicola has said Girls Aloud used to be able to go out, dance all night, get thoroughly and happily sloshed then “pour” themselves into taxis in the wee hours of the morning. Sounds like a standard Friday night for us. Fortunately for us (and even more fortunately for you) we aren’t famous and therefore aren’t in danger of flashing our knickers to the public via a hundred snapping flashy phones.
Speaking to Live magazine, Nicola said, "The fun has gone out of the pop industry. In a way Girls Aloud rode the first wave of modern celebrity. When we started out as a band, we'd all go to a club, get very merry and pour ourselves into taxis at 4am. There were no camera phones clicking away. Then everything became so much more heightened. It became a different industry, a totally different world. It's become too serious, too hard-nosed."
One girl who will definitely be asking Santa Claus for a big ol’ Girls Aloud reunion is Kimberley Walsh. While the other girls have been busy designing shoes, opening pubs and releasing solo material, Kimberley has said what she really wants for next year is to be reunited with her girls. The band, who have celebrated 10 years together, have been on a break since 2009.
"Would I be OK if the reunion didn't happen? I could in terms of my career as I don't think we have anything to prove, but I'd be gutted from a personal point of view as I love performing in the band, that's why we're doing something next year - we never intended to stop for good."
What's the matter, Kim? Isn't Shrek keeping you on your toes?
