X Factor winners Little Mix are set to lose their battle for the Christmas No.1 spot as sales for The Military Wives Choir's single storm ahead.
The 100-strong choir are favourites to take the top spot with their heartfelt record Wherever You Are which was inspired by letters home written by husbands and boyfriends serving in Afghanistan.
Although Little Mix are expected to top the singles chart tonight with their cover of Damien Rice's Cannonball, the wives are already Amazon's most pre-ordered track.
Bookmakers William Hill have The Military Wives Choir at 1/8, with Little Mix behind them at 11/2.
But it wont be the first time an X Factor winner has lost out on the festive accolade to an underdog.
In 2009 Joe McElderry was pipped to the post by Rage Against The Machine after a Facebook campaign against manufactured artists.
A William Hill spokesman said: 'We never believed it possible to beat X Factor again after what was thought to be a one-off victory for Rage Against The Machine.
'But X Factor will have lost a week's sales by the time the Christmas number one is counted.
'It looks like the Military Wives can't be beaten.'
The ladies from Devon are led by choirmaster Gareth Malone and the track was written by royal composer Paul Mealor.
