Orlando Bloom used to take himself ''a little bit too seriously,'' and admits getting caught up in the vices of Hollywood.
Orlando Bloom used to take himself "a little bit too seriously".
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor admits he has got caught up in the glamour of Hollywood and the trappings which can tempts young stars earlier in his career.
The 34-year-old star told Live! Magazine: "At one point or another over a ten-year period I probably was guilty of taking myself a little bit too seriously.
"And that is a recipe for disaster. But there are so many minefields and bullets to dodge: women, drugs, gambling, alcohol, whatever you want."
When asked if he had succumbed to these vices, he added: "Yes of course â?? are you kidding me? Who the hell wouldn't?
"When there are so many options you work your way through some of them, don't you? I've over-indulged many times, at different times."
Orlando married model Miranda Kerr in July last year, and they have a nine-month-old boy, Flynn, together. Alongside settling down and fatherhood, the star says he always surrounds himself with good friends to keep him grounded.
He added: "I'm a guy's guy, a people person. I like to hang out with real people â?? I'm not in a golden cage.
"I hate being put on a pedestal because it's a long way to fall. People start doing that to you â?? it often happened, at different times, and I would think, 'Please don't do that, please don't think that I'm all that.' I'm just like everybody else."
Orlando next stars as the Duke of Buckingham in 'The Three Musketeers', in cinemas this month.
