David Beckham looking for new family home for Posh and the kids in Paris

Leading newspapers joined TF1, the country’s main TV channel, in saying that agents for the multi-millionaire footballer were scouring the city for the right property.

It follows strong rumours that Beckham, 36, intends to finish his playing career with a contract at Paris St Germain. ‘He’s already looking for an apartment in Paris,’ reported Le Monde’s website, which said an American real estate agency was leading the hunt.

‘He wants a triplex apartment in a beautiful Parisian building.’ It is thought his wife Victoria favours a place in the prestigious sixth arrondissement, on the historic Rive Gauche. The area is best known for its bookshops, libraries, and the ancient Sorbonne.

Former residents include Ernest Hemingway, James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, Samuel Beckett and F. Scott Fitzgerald but the belief is Victoria, 37, was more interested in the area’s designer shops than its literary tradition.

‘Victoria often comes to Paris for fashion events, and would just love to be here full time,’ said Josephine Leclerc, who runs a boutique in the 6th arrondissement. ‘David and Victoria will set the place abuzz – we would absolutely love to have them here.’

The couple already own a holiday home in the south of France, and have frequently been pictured walking around Paris.
