Beyonce: Irish teen Janet can win The X Factor

Irish X Factor star Janet Devlin has won over singing sensation Beyonce, who has described the teenager as "very sweet".

The superstar backed her Destiny's Child pal Kelly Rowland to mentor the winning act and revealed that she thinks the Irish hopeful can be the one to go all the way.

"I think Kelly will win, not just because she's my sister but because I really do think she has the strongest acts," the 30-year-old said.

"Janet is very sweet, I can see the public becoming very endeared towards her and picking up the phone.

"These shows are as much about personality and winning over the public as they are performance and vocals," added the the wife of rapper Jay Z.

Beyonce was joined in her praise for Janet by Saturdays star Una Healy who thinks the Tyrone contestant is "brilliant" on stage, despite falling to second place in bookmakers' favourites to win this year's series.

"The whole point of the X Factor is they are looking for someone unique -- she has got something special and you can't wait to watch her -- she is unique," said Una (30), who added that she would like to see her group appear on the talent programme.

"Not really sure if we have planned that yet -- it's quite competitive to get a slot on X Factor."

Last year's runners up One Direction, as well as footballers Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney, and singer Lily Allen have all given the thumbs up to the budding songstress.

One Direction's Mullingar teen Niall Horan has tweeted Janet on numerous occasions that he is a big fan of hers and has congratulated her on her voice.

Janet has racked up a whopping 122,716 followers on her social networking page since her first appearance on Simon Cowell's hit ITV series over the summer.

Kelly (30) sailed through last week's elimination show with her three contestants, Misha B, Sophie Habibas and our Janet all making it through the public vote.

Janet gave another show-stopping performance for the love and heartbreak theme and was the second act to go through to the next round on Sunday.
