Tribute to godmother Winehouse

Amy Winehouse's 15-year-old goddaughter paid an emotional tribute to the singer at the Big Chill music festival in Herefordshire yesterday.

Dionne Bromfield performed a homage to her godmother, who died two weeks ago aged 27, ending with a cover of Winehouse's "Love Is a Losing Game". Bromfield, who had signed to Winehouse's record label, Lioness Records, appeared teary-eyed and was barely able to sing the last few words. The crowd buoyed her up and kept her going by cheering. "She was an amazing singer," Bromfield told the audience. "She was not only my godmother, but she was my mentor and my boss as well."

Bromfield cut a figure remarkably similar to that of her godmother, with her tiny build and expansive hair. She performed for 30 minutes, her first major public performance. Backed by a five-piece band and dancers, she was the first to take the stage, performing songs from her two albums. She also covered Cee Lo Green's hit "Forget You" and the Shirelles' "Mama Said"
