Singer Tom Jones is recovering in hospital after he fell ill and was forced to pull out of a concert in Monaco.
Sir Tom, 71, was expected to perform at the Salle des Etoiles as part of Monte Carlo's Sporting Summer Festival on Saturday night but withdrew, suffering from "severe dehydration".
He was rushed to casualty at Monaco's Princesse Grace Hospital for treatment.
A hospital spokesman said he was now in a stable condition.
In a statement on his website, the Welsh singer expressed "deep regrets" and apologised to fans.
"Sir Tom was ordered by doctors not to perform in Monte Carlo yesterday evening due to severe dehydration," the statement read.
"This was extremely disappointing for Tom, the band and all connected with the tour.
"This was the last date of a very successful three-month tour, where many of the shows were in locations that were in the throes of high summer heat."
Dismissing suggestions the star had suffered from a heart problem, it went on: "Sir Tom wants to relay his deep regrets for causing disappointment and inconvenience to all who would have come to enjoy his show last night.
"He thanks everyone for their understanding and support and hopes to see the fans in Monte Carlo again soon."
