‘Treme’ Actor Michael Showers Dies

 

 Actor Michael Showers, who played Capt. John Guidry on the HBO series Treme, has died. Authorities discovered his body floating in the Mississippi River near New Orleans on Wednesday. Showers’s body and the cause of his death are currently being investigated, but the coroner’s office has not yet answered any questions about the incident. In a statement on behalf of the show, Treme creator David Simon called Showers “a fine actor who contributed his talents to our drama in the warmest and most professional way.”
