Singer/songwriter Pj Harvey has predicted Britain faces the risk of further riots as there is a "tinder keg" of frustration across the country.
The cult rocker insisted in an interview earlier this year that the country would see "a wave of unrest", and within months of her comments, looting and arson erupted in cities including London, Manchester, and Birmingham in August.
Now she fears there could be further outbreaks of violence unless the government takes urgent steps to address the underlying social issues that sparked the rioting.
Harvey tells NME magazine, "I wouldn't go as far as saying I predicted anything. But I think anybody who follows the news, and who tries to go even further to find out what's below the surface of what we're allowed to be told, you pick up a sense of great frustration that's like a tinder keg. You've just got to strike a match and it's going to go off.
"It's all over the world at the moment... I can't say I was surprised. It was just a matter of time. Just wait and see what the government chooses or what it puts in place to start addressing some of the issues that brought it about in the first place. We'll have to wait and see."
