Ellen DeGeneres has said that she is "fine" following a visit from paramedics on Monday.
The award-winning talkshow host complained of chest pains during a meeting at the Warner Bros studios in Burbank, California on Monday morning, TMZ reports.
A member of DeGeneres's production team is believed to have called the emergency services, who visited the studios to examine the 53-year-old comedian just before noon.
DeGeneres later recalled what happened on air in a tongue-in-cheek manner, reassuring viewers that she was okay.
She began by joking: "The paramedics were strippers that I had called, and that's how the rumours got started."
DeGeneres also quipped that a feeling of "tightness and heaviness" in her chest area was caused by her cat sitting on top of her.
DeGeneres continued: "About 50 fire trucks and ambulances - I mean, [it was] like one marching band short of a parade - showed up outside of my office, and then they came in with an axe [and] broke the door down. I mean, it was open, I don't know why they did that."
On a more serious note, she added: "Everything's fine, I don't know what it is... but anyway, I want to say thank you to all the paramedics and to the nurses who showed up."
