Rachael Taylor has revealed that she still feels vulnerable after her abusive relationship with Matthew Newton.
The Charlie's Angels actress, who was left with concussion and a sprained jaw after Newton attacked her in a hotel in Rome last year, said that she has been filming lots of fight scenes with men for her new show that have brought back raw memories.
Taylor told TV Week magazine: "I was fighting a six foot four guy the other day. Never in my life did I think I'd be so happy to fight a man. I'm sensitive to that - for good reason."
The star took out an apprehended violence order (AVO) against Newton after the incident that saw him arrested and in and out of a psychiatric clinic for a year. He later broke the terms of the AVO by trying to get back in touch with her.
Taylor is now in a relationship with former Sea Patrol actor Josh Lawson and said of him in May: "Josh has been a really great influence on me and I adore him. We are really happy. We have a deep friendship, a deep respect."
She has also said that she feels "really happy", adding: "This is the best I've ever felt. I really didn't expect for it to feel so good. I am enormously fortunate and a little bit astounded myself at it. It's been an incredible 12 months."
