Kevin Bacon NOT involved in fatal car crash

There’s nothing quite like the Internet for spreading false rumours fast. Did you hear the one about Kevin Bacon dying in a car crash in Ipswich, Queensland?

There have been whispers all over the web, and particularly on Twitter, that the X-Men: First Class actor had been killed in a car crash while on holiday in Australia, but thankfully the rumours are 100 per cent NOT true.

Putting an end to the speculation, the Queensland police media unit took to their Twitter page to inform everyone that Kev hasn’t been involved in a car accident. Phew!

“We can happily confirm that Kevin Bacon was NOT killed in a car crash in Qld overnight. We did enjoy talking to every entertainment writer on the planet (or it seemed that way) though.”
An official police spokesperson also said,
“We have no idea how the rumour started, but my colleague had lots of calls overnight. We checked and thankfully there were no Kevin Bacons injured or deceased overnight."

Just to make this rumour even more preposterous Kevin isn’t even on holiday in Queensland, he’s actually on a film set in Atlanta. We just want to know one thing: who’s the sicko that starts up these false celebrity death rumours?
