The four piece, who have been together over 12 years, have only ever scored one hit in the US with 'Swear It Again'.

Entertainment weekly wrote: "Long before American Idol, Simon Cowell signed this Irish pop group. In the decade since, they've sold 40 million records and gained considerable international recognition"

It was also noted that American Idol season two winner Ruben Studdard, had a huge hit with Westlife's song 'Flying Without Wings'.

The 'Raise Me Up' singers just made the list, coming in at number 19, just behind Take That at number 16.

New Kids on the Block came third, second place went to NSync and the Jackson 5 won the top spot.
