Stage star Ray Quinn will reprise his role in Grease when the hit musical comes to the city.
The former Brookside actor will take on the role of Danny Zuko when the show opens at the Empire this autumn.
Quinn, who made his West End debut in Grease, will be joined on stage by Liverpool actress Carina Gillespie.
The Liverpool Theatre School-trained performer will play Sandy, a role she performed in the London production.
Former Dancing On Ice and X Factor contestant Quinn, from Childwall, said: “I am looking forward to coming back.
“Last time I played the Empire was for three sell-out nights on my solo tour.
“Nothing quite beats a home crowd.”
