Adele 'cancels ITV1 special over Brits spat'

Adele has reportedly scrapped plans to star in an ITV1 music special after her Brit Awards acceptance speech was cut short.

The 'Someone Like You' singer was collecting the prestigious 'British Album' prize for 21 when host James Corden interrupted, forcing the broadcaster to later apologise for its actions.

Adele, who won six Grammys earlier this month, had been in talks with ITV about starring in a primetime show hosted by Christine Bleakley but has now decided to snub their offer.

She has also ignored a request to appear on The X Factor and is instead planning a performance on BBC rival show The Voice, the Daily Star Sunday reports.

"Adele was embarrassed by the way she was treated in front of millions of viewers by ITV," a source told the paper.

"By turning down a music ­special with the network and also appearing on its main ­rival's music show she is giving them the ultimate one-fingered salute.

"Adele is the biggest British name in music in the world at the moment and her refusal to work with ITV will hit them hard."

Adele also won 'British Female Solo Artist' at the Brit Awards.

'X Factor' finalist Rachel Crow signs Nickelodeon, Sony deals

 

Rachel Crow, the spunky teen whose controversial ouster from “The X Factor” eclipsed the rest of the show’s inaugural season, has signed deals with Nickelodeon and Sony.

No surprise that Nickelodeon has tapped the 14-year-old spitfire for an overall talent deal, which the network announced Wednesday. As part of the deal, Nickelodeon is developing a comedy series fronted by Crow.

The teen has also landed a deal with Sony-owned Columbia Records through “X Factor” creator-judge Simon Cowell’s imprint Syco. Though it wasn’t clear whether Cowell would oversee her debut project, it’s likely, as the reality show magnate handpicked Crow for his team and mentored the young sensation.

“I am incredibly happy for Rachel. This girl has it,” Cowell said in a statement. “We saw her potential at the first audition and Nickelodeon and Columbia are the right homes for her.”

Before taping her Nickelodeon pilot, she is slated to appear in a recurring role on the network’s hit “Fred: The Show.”

Crow joins semi-finalists Chris Rene, Brian "Astro" Bradley and Marcus Canty, who have all gotten deals. Melanie Amaro, the show's inaugural winner, snared the largest guaranteed prize in television history with a $5-million recording contract, also with the Sony-Cowell label Syco.

The famous 'rom-com' actress finally gets her own star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and her co-stars were there to testify to her professional and inspiring work ethics.

'Friends' star-turned-big screen-goddess, Jennifer Aniston, has recently gained a spot on the famous Hollywood walk of fame, and Aniston is more than ecstatic to have her dream finally come true.

"This is crazy. I mean, literally. I mean, I walk the streets of Hollywood Boulevard. I am a California girl through and through and this has always sort of been in the back of my mind" shared Aniston to the cheering crowd.

Akerman added that Aniston is far from being a 'diva' and naturally shows how easy she is to work with.

Akerman also spilled some set antics that Aniston is used to doing, and it meant sharing how generous and thoughtful the actress is.

"She's very, very bad at following directions. So if anyone clearly says, 'Do not bring any gifts, she's going to show up with gifts. She sends everyone amazing Christmas cards at Christmas. Instead of sending us a gift, she says she's going to put money in your name for a charity, so she's not very good at being selfish." Malin said.

Aside from Akerman, Adam Sandler was also there to provide the crowd and the famous honoree with some humorous comments about her career.

"She prayed for three things, to have everyone in the entire world be fascinated with her haircut, to one day star in a movie about an evil leprechaun who kills people, and most importantly, receive a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame. Well today, Jennifer, the trifecta is here." Sandler humorously said about Aniston in a report by E! Online.

Adele Flips Middle Finger At BRIT Awards 2012

 

Adele flipped the ‘birdy’ to BRIT Award bosses after being cut off during her acceptance speech tonight.

The London singer was collecting her Album of The Year award for ‘21’ at the BRITS when host James Coden ran onstage and interrupted her speech due to time constraints.

Speaking during the press conference after, she said: ''I was cut off during my speech but I wanted to thank the British public for all their support. I was held up with my voice and troubles but the album kept walking without me.

I flipped the bird for the suits at the BRITS who cut me off. Sorry if I offended anyone but it was for them, not for the fans.’

The singer's second album '21' beat off competition from the likes of PJ Harvey, Ed Sheeran, Florence And The Machine and Coldplay.

Ed Sheeran won British Male Solo Artist and Best British Breakthrough, while Adele also won the award for Best Female Solo Artist.

Coldplay continued their Brit Awards run as they were named British Group, with frontman Chris Martin thanking fans for their continued love and support.

In the international categories, Foo Fighters won International Group and after little under six months Lana Del Rey held back tears as she collected the International Breakthrough Award.

Rihanna was named International Female Solo Artist for the second year and Bruno Mars took home the honour for International Male Solo Artist.

Kourtney Kardashian and her TV presenter/model partner, Scott Disick, have today announced the sex of their baby - and it's a bouncing baby girl. The reality TV starlet said: "We feel so blessed to be having a little girl and to be able to share this new experience with Mason."

Kourtney and Scott revealed the pregnancy back in November 2011. It is believed the girl - who will be little sister to Mason Dash, their 2-year-old son - is due in the late spring.

Christina Ricci has revealed that her sex scenes with Johnny Depp in The Man Who Cried was “wrong.”
The Pan Am star, who appears on The Jonathan Ross Show tonight, told the chat show host how her intimate scene with Depp was awkward as the pair have been great friends since she was nine years old.
The actress said, 'He knew me as this little kid and then all of a sudden we were doing sex scenes and we were both like, "eugh". Not "eugh," because of him but, "eugh," because it was somebody you knew as a child.”
I’m sure there are any number of women out there who would have gladly stood in for in, but there’s no chance the film would have then remained a PG-13 rating.
Ricci also revealed that her Pan Am role as an air hostess is a funny one, because due to her height she would never be able to have that job in real life.

Jennifer Aniston: 'Wanderlust' topless scenes were easy

Jennifer Aniston has insisted that going topless in her latest movie Wanderlust didn't faze her.

The actress revealed that much stranger things happened while filming on location in Clarkesville, Georgia.

According the The Sun, she said: "You do get nervous when there's a day where it's, 'Oops, I'm naked'. I wouldn't go topless for a cause, going to such an extreme to make a difference. But we've been among these people in this environment for almost two months."

"The topless scene was nothing compared to what happened in the two months prior. There was an actor naked the whole time getting his touch-ups and everybody else just having a normal conversation."

Speaking of shooting the movie, she added: "There was a real community feeling. We were in the middle of nowhere and we were all a hop, skip and a jump from each other, peppered around this lake. The farthest people were 20 minutes away. After work we had dinner together and we spent the weekends together."

Aniston also confessed that she would love to move to the country since she felt a sense of anonymity while filming in Clarkesville.

"It was the greatest experience because I felt like I gained my anonymity back. I was like, God, I'm so paranoid and pent up. You realise how paranoid and guarded and non-trusting... There was a sigh of relief to be able to walk around like a normal person and feel like I've got my anonymity back," she concluded.

Simon Cowell on the lookout for new female X Factor judge after deciding to 'almost certainly' axe Kelly Rowland

Just a year ago, Simon Cowell launched an extensive search to find two new female X Factor judges.
But now, after a quiet decision to ‘almost certainly’ axe former  Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland from the panel of the hit talent show, he’s on the lookout again.
Senior sources at ITV tell me they will happily wave goodbye to the 31-year-old American singer because she ‘failed to connect with viewers’ and ‘annoyed production staff with her diva attitude’.

Kelly famously refused to fly back from LA for one of the shows after a row with rival judge Tulisa Contostavlos, blaming a throat condition.

I’ve been told: ‘Kelly has got to go. She was not right for the show. The producers didn’t like her and her commitment level wasn’t there. There’s an understanding she didn’t work on the panel.’
But Cowell insists he will have the final say on the judging line-up and plans to spend a number of weeks weighing up alternatives before announcing his line-up.

However, Tulisa is considered a ‘sure bet’ to return after winning last year with girl group Little Mix. ITV also wants Gary Barlow back, while Cowell admits sacking his close friend Louis Walsh would be difficult. Westlife member Kian Egan has been touted as a potential replacement.

Kelly’s departure does pose an intriguing question: could former judges Cheryl Cole or Dannii Minogue return?
My ITV source explains: ‘Simon would need to sort his issues with Cheryl and he usually believes in moving forward.’
A spokeswoman for The X  Factor said: ‘The panel will be decided by ITV, the producers and Simon together — absolutely no decisions have been made yet.’

Adele 's forthcoming US Vogue interview is set to be a fire cracker judging by the amount of quotes being taken from it by the press this week, with first the news that the British singing sensation was considering taking a five year break from the industry and secondly opening up about how she is in relationships. Now, Ctv are reporting that in the same interview she's suggested that she'll never make up with her estranged father, going back on initial reports that had suggested that she might make a go of building bridges.

Apparently the back track comes after a view he gave suggesting that Adele's problems with men were down to him leaving her as a child. "I was ready to start trying to have a relationship with him," raged the 23 year old, "He's f***ing blown it. He will never hear from me again. Because there is nothing that would upset me more than my dad being bribed by the press."

Adele wasn't done there either, continuing "It makes me angry! To come back after 10 years and be like, 'Maybe her problem with men comes down to me.' It's like, F**k off! Simon Cowell brings worker onboard private jet in time for his child's birth

Simon to the rescue as Britain’s Got talent crew member reaches hospital in the nick of time.

X Factor boss Simon Cowell was truly heroic when he offered his private jet to a Britian's Got Talent crew member to Surrey, so he could reach the birth of his first child.

John Hagenstede received a call, while at the Britain’s Got Talent auditions in Scotland, from his wife saying she was in labour.

He explained: "We looked up every possible option of getting me home and I was devastated when I realised the only option was waiting and getting a flight in the morning.

“I knew I would miss the birth of my first child.

But luckily Simon stepped in and offered to take John with him on his private jet, which was already heading to Luton.

Alongside Simon, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon, John travelled in luxury.

He said: "They knew how important it was to me and not only did they let me share their private jet, they also gave me drinks on the flight, relaxed me and were generally lovely and supportive."

Adele is celebrating triumph at the Grammy Awards after picking up six gongs.

The British soul singer's awards included album of the year for 21 and best record for Rolling In The Deep.

The 23-year-old had surgery on her vocal cords late last year and had been resting her voice on her doctor's orders until the music industry's biggest night.

Taking to the stage for the first time since then, she sang Rolling In The Deep and finished to a standing ovation.

Adele also added song of the year, best pop solo performance, pop vocal and short video to her stack of trophies.

Foo Fighters were the other big winners, picking up five Grammys , including Best Rock Performance for Walk.

"This is a great honour because this record was a special record for our band," explained frontman Dave Grohl .

"Rather than go to the best studio we made this one in my garage with some microphones and a tape machine.

The awards also paid tribute to Whitney Houston , who was found dead in a bath in her Beverly Hills hotel room on Saturday.

She was remembered by fellow artists in acceptance speeches and songs.

Jennifer Hudson sang Houston's signature hit I Will Always Love You and Grammy host LL Cool J offered a prayer for the star's family, friends and fans.

Other major Grammy winners included Taylor Swift, who picked up Grammys for solo performance and country song with Mean, which she performed to a standing ovation.

She had been expected to take best country album, too, but Lady Antebellum took that prize with Own The Night.

The other big surprise came when indie folk act Bon Iver took the Grammy for best new artist over rapper Nicki Minaj.

Jay-Z and Kanye West won best rap performance with their song Otis, from the album Watch The Throne, but they failed to show up to claim their prize.

West entered the night with seven nominations, more than any other artist, and also walked away with the award for best rap album with My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

Chris Brown won the Grammy for best R&B album F.A.M.E.

Ruth Negga's IFTAs Makeup

 

Lesley Keane, MAC's Senior Makeup Arist, headed up the the MAC suite at the Irish Film & Television Awards on Saturday night.

She told us about creating actress Ruth Negga's gorgeous red carpet look.

Lesley said: "Ruth wore this incredible outfit with notes of green sequins, so she wanted green eye shadow however she mentioned that it is difficult to find the right colour foundation and that she doesn't like too much make up.

"We used the new M·A·C Matchmaster foundation as it allows the skin tone to shine through and gives a more natural look , then we applied the M·A·C Mineralise under eye concealer and dusted some Careblend powder to smooth out the complexion. On the eyes we used a green metallic mineralise eye shadow in a new tone called 'Cloudy' afternoon . And then applied a generous layer of M·A·C Opulash mascara in Bad Lash Black.

"On the cheeks we blended some Cremeblend blush in Lady Blush and applied Syrup lipstick to the lips for a moisturised pink pout."

Whitney Houston Found Underwater

Whitney Houston was found in the bathtub of a Beverly Hills hotel yesterday ... with her face underwater ... people close to Whitney tell TMZ.

According to our sources, her stylist, hairdresser and two bodyguards were among the people in the room at the time. We're told they became worried about Whitney because she had been in the bathroom for over an hour and it was time to start getting ready for the Clive Davis party.

Our sources say they began to knock on the door and there was no answer. We're told the hairdresser, who is female, went in to check on Whitney. She immediately screamed and, according to our sources, one of the bodyguards came running in and pulled her out of the tub.

We're told Whitney's face was below the water and her legs were up ... like she had slid down the back of the tub.

According to our sources, her body was very cold and the bodyguard attempted CPR. That's when hotel security was called.

Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter, but Whitney was pronounced dead at 3:55 PM.

Whitney Houston Found In The Bathtub, May Have Taken Xanax And Drowned

Wow, this is heartbreaking.

As more and more details come out about Whitney Houston's death, we've discovered that the 48-year-old singer was found in the bathtub of her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Paramedics performed CPR for over 20 minutes, but she was unfortunately pronounced dead at 3:55 PM.

Beverly Hills Police say there was no foul play, but prescription pills were found in her room, which means it was possible Whitney may have drowned in the bathtub.

Awful…

Family members have mentioned that Whitney was taking Xanax and she was seen drinking alcohol the night before.

This is so, so sad. We still can't believe that she is gone. We're still in shock.

Jedward pin new Eurovision hopes on Westlife's songwriter

 

POP duo Jedward have enlisted the help of a top Westlife songwriter for their new Eurovision bid.

Swede Nick Jarl has written tracks for the last four albums by the million- selling Irish boyband and now he has contributed a new song 'Waterline' for the twins.

However, it will be his first time in Eurovision if the Lucan twins make it to the competition this year.

To do so they must beat songs from five rivals on a 'Late Late Show' Eurosong special scheduled for February 24.

But Jedward's mentor Linda Martin said she had great hopes for 'Waterline', which gets its first play on Derek Mooney's RTE Radio 1 show on Thursday.

"Waterline is a fantastic European pop song. Nick uses the word waterline as a metaphor for falling in love, and this will be his first time in Eurovision, if we make it," said Ms Martin.

"Nothing is a given. Jedward and I know that we are up against five good songs from five great singers. It's a five-horse race," she told the Irish Independent.

There was controversy last year when Jedward's entry 'Lipstick' was leaked on to the internet.

However, this year RTE has announced that none of the five songs will be announced until their first airplay on RTE Radio this week.

The other mentors and acts include TV producer Bill Hughes, who mentors former Irish entrant Donna McCaul.

Also in the mix are musician and producer Greg French with singer Andrew Mann; former B*witched member Edele Barrett with Maria McCool; and agent Julian Benson with singing duo Una Gibney and David Shannon.

As in 2011 the winner will be selected by a public tele-vote and a series of regional juries.

The act chosen as Ireland's Eurovision entry for 2012 will once again have to compete in a semi-final on either May 22 or May 24, in the hope of making the grand final on May 26 in Azerbaijan.

Harry Potter and the half-slipped nipple

We were initially so distracted by Johnny Borrell's amazing outfit that we didn't notice the fact that Emma Watson was wearing a sheer top with no bra - NIPPLE SLIP AHOY! No wonder Borrell's whacking one off under that hat (didn't she once let him poke her with his magic wand anyway?)... It's nice that the hat does at least have one useful purpose.

Borrell and Watson were at a pre-BAFTA party organised by Lancome, along with Cuba Gooding Jr, Alexander Roache, Henry Conway, Tom Higgleston, Caroline Flack and others. Great work, guys. Good luck with those BAFTAs tomorrow, all of you.

Bobby Brown "Crying Fits" Over Whitney But Trying to Perform Concert

We're told Bobby started the show by addressing the crowd, pointing to the sky, and saying,

Bobby Brown is distraught and "in and out of crying fits" ... after getting the news that Whitney Houston is dead -- but his New Edition band mates are by his side trying to console him.

New Edition has a concert tonight in Mississippi -- and believe it or not sources close to the group tell TMZ ... not only will New Edition go on as scheduled, but as of now Bobby is also planning to perform.

We're told Bobby is going to try to get through the entire show.

Bobby and Whitney had an infamously tumultuous 15 year marriage.

Kelly: Guys not brave enough to chat me up

Kelly Rowland thinks men are "intimidated" by her. The 30-year-old singer admits guys rarely try to chat her up when she is out and about, but if someone is "brave" enough to try it on then she always gives them a chance at wooing her. When asked if she gets men coming on to her all the time, she replied: "Not often, no. Maybe they're intimidated. But if a man is brave enough to strike up a conversation, you should give him a chance and see what's there. "If there's nothing there, then keep moving." The ex-Destiny's Child singer - who was engaged to former American football player Roy Williams in 2006, before the wedding was called off - prefers to go for men who are ambitious and can make her laugh, but most importantly they have to be able to "hold their own".

She added: "I go for somebody who is secure within themselves, has a great outlook on life, is fun to be with, can make me laugh and has goals. "Most of all, they have to be able to hold their own and be a man, you know?

"Growing up, though, I had a crush on New Kids on the Block."

Good girl gone bad: Emma Watson in see-through red dress for Bafta party

 

Harry Potter actress Emma Watson left little to the imagination at a pre-party ahead of the Bafta Awards in London, wearing a revealing figure-hugging dress that was more than a little bit see-through.

Even though she ditched her goody two-shoes Hermione Granger image long ago, it still came as a bit of a shock to see Emma in such a daring dress.
And the look was made all the more racy on closer examination when it was revealed to be see-through, while she went without a bra - leaving little to the imagination for onlookers.

Earlier in the week it was announced the 21-year-old actress has launched a new Valentine's range for lips and nails as the latest face of Lancôme, who are the the official beauty partner of the awards.


And as she posed for cameras she showed off one of the 24 lipstick shades from her new collection called Rouge In Love, which she launched at Selfridges in London yesterday.

And she tweeted a photo of herself sporting a much softer look en route to the department store in central London.


'On my way to the launch of Lancôme Rouge in Love at Selfridges. Exciting! Em xx,' she added.

The British beauty was signed by Lancôme in March last year.
