IF you thought Simon Cowell was straight on the blower when Westlife called it a day, you’d be Flying Without Wings!

Despite increasing Simon’s bulging bank balance by millions over the past 14 years The Loife haven’t heard a peep from their former boss.

Kian Egan told me: “No, we’ve not heard anything from Simon at all. “We aren’t on his label anymore and I’m sure he’s really busy in America, so I’m just guessing he hasn’t had a chance.”

Either that or he just couldn’t be bothered.

It’s a different story for the group’s manager Louis Walsh though.

Kian went on: “Louis kept trying to change our minds, saying we were mad to be calling it a day and we were throwing something amazing away.

“He’s probably right to be honest but we all want to try something new.”

And before fans start dreaming of one last singalong with former member Brian McFadden… it ain’t going to happen.

In fact, Kian told me Brian’s lucky to be left on the Greatest Hits collection after they debated stripping all trace of him from Westlife history.

He said: “We were asked if we wanted to re-record his vocals for the Greatest Hits album by the record label.

“We discussed it and we were like ‘no, we don’t want to take him off’.

“We wanted to keep it true to the original singles. “But even though we want Brian’s vocal on the record, bringing him back would overshadow what we have done as a four-piece.

“We’ve been offered big bucks to bring him back before but it’s never going to happen.”

Can’t blame the lads that much: Brian doesn’t really have the same pulling power as Robbie Williams after all!

The Bad Boys singer hit back: “I’d love to have a permanent judging role in the future.

Darren Aronofsky to direct Metallica and Lou Reed video

 Award winning film director Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, The Wrestler) will direct the video for Iced Honey from the Lou Reed & Metallica album Lulu.

Lou will head to the Metallica home turf of San Francisco to shoot the clip with Aronofsky in the Bay Area.

' have loved Darren Aronofsky since he did Pi,' said Lou Reed in a statement. ' hope I can be his next Black Swan.'

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich adds, 'As if making a record with Lou Reed is not enough... now I get to make a video with Darren Aronofsky, who has been among my very favorite filmmakers since his first movie, Pi. This is turning into a monumental chapter in the on-going saga entitled 'Lars Ulrich.living the dream!!!'

Lulu is the first ever collaboration album between Lou Reed and Metallica. It features a set of extended songs inspired by German expressionist Frank Wedekind's early 20th century plays Earth Spirit and Pandora's Box, and were a rewrite of Edgar Allan Poe's, The Raven, which emerged as a graphic novel on Fantagraphics Press.

The pair only walked down the aisle in Augus,t but Kardashian filed for divorce this week after only 72 days of marriage.

However, it has been reported that Kris and Kim both knew the marriage was not working and had many discussions about splitting up.

In the end it was the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star who made the final decision to divorce.

A source told People magazine: "[Divorce had] been on her mind a lot lately. She was completely torn.

"Kim decided really last minute. It was not an easy decision to make."

They added: "[Kim] talked about the possibility of filing and she told Kris it wasn't going to work.

"Everything she dreamed of in her mind was right there in front of her but what she realised is that her heart wasn't there."

The insider added that Kim's decision to file for divorce was still a shock to the basketball player.

They said: "[He was] surprised by the timing. He found out about the divorce papers via the internet.

"He thought they were going through troubling times and a really tough situation but he thought they would figure it out."

Speculation has been rife that the Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant after she declined to eat peanut butter during her visit to Denmark.

However, it now thought the royal couple have put off plans to start a family until after June 2012, as they do not want to overshadow the Queen's jubilee celebrations.

A source told The People: "Kate and William can't wait to have a family.
"But the last thing they want to do is upstage the Queen."

They added: "William knows more than anyone how special next year's celebrations are.
"They are not worried about waiting. Both of them are enjoying married life a lot."

It is thought that Prince William was particularly concerned about upstaging his grandmother as she celebrates her sixth century as the Queen.
